My studying method

Studying. Something we all know, but don't love. I thought I would share with you guys my tried and true way of studying. I do want to stress that you should be attending every class humanly possible to and paying attention during them! Even if the teacher puts the material online, it will still benefit you to be there and hear them lecture about it. Most people begin studying a week or less in advance for a test. That's not how I roll. I actually start studying as soon as we start learning the material. I would highly recommend doing this! Even if you don't study in the same way I am about to suggest, just studying as you learn the information is a great way to really grasp all of the topics and build on-top of for the actual test.  There will be times where you just don't want to do it, but keep in mind how much you are helping future you (they will be thankful later on). First, I type my notes on my computer during the lecture. Even if the power-point is online, I s...

Moving into my dorm

Image
Happy Friday everyone! I thought it would be great to reflect on my college experiences and hopefully give you guys an in on what college is actually like. I thought this could be beneficial because all I knew about college going in was what I saw in movies and what my family told me! I'm currently a freshman so my experiences are all very recent and all my posts will be in real time with how my life is going.  So let's talk about move-in day. My college has a program where you are able to meet people and grow skills that will aid in your adjustment to college. This program took place before school had began. At first, I was reluctant about taking part in this program. I felt that I was being 'babied' into college, and that I could figure everything out on my own. I was going to be fine right? I've been to a sleep away summer camp for a month before so I totally got this whole college thing in the bag! Even after explaining how I felt, my parents still encourag...

Back and hopefully better than ever

Wow, it has been a long time huh? Welcome back! I have decided to revamp this blog because not only do I love writing, but I also have had a lot to talk about lately. Since my last (and quite frankly only) post, a lot of time has passed! During that time I graduated high school, started college and so much more. Maybe later I will go into depth on some of those "so much more" stories, but for now I just want give y'all a general idea of where I am at in life. As I mentioned before, I am in college. I am super paranoid about my safety so I will not disclose the school, but I am currently a freshman and live in a dorm on campus. The school I have chosen is fantastic for my education, but I am not as close to home as I would prefer. I now have a boyfriend of over a year and a half, and we are both very happy! I have one dog named Molly and she's amazing. My neighbors dog is basically mine too because I see them so often! Pics will be posted later on so don't worry d...
Hey guys! This is my first official post, kinda cool right? Okay, now to actual post. Today has been an interesting day to say the least. Today a big thunderstorm hit town, and of course that brought lots of rain, thunder, and a tornado! Yes you saw that right, I know it's Louisiana but it does happen. Anyway, they cancelled school so I was super excited (comment if you know the feeling.) So I decided I was going to go to the gym with my mom since her appointment is during school. I got all ready and my mom told me that we weren't going. Not gonna lie I was pretty mad. So I go back to my room and hop on twitter. I was shocked to see that another gym less than 5 minutes from the one we go to was torn apart by a tornado, and a few neighboring stores too. That was close!! Shout out to moms, they always seem to know best. So I guess the rest of my day will be spent with Netflix and online shopping, but that sounds better than a near death experience!  some pictures of the dam...
